March is B Corp month, meaning it’s time for us to shout about how great it is to be a B Corp and what that means for our business. Being a B Corp means we’re working to benefit people, communities and planet at every stage of our supply chain, push for meaningful legal change and contribute to an equitable and regenerative economy.

We Go Beyond Campaign
The theme of B Corp month 2023 is ‘We Go Beyond’ and aims to highlight how B Corps go beyond expectations to make a mark on the world.
This month, we join the community to celebrate how B Corps go above and beyond the status quo to fight against the environmental crises and social justice challenges that the world is facing.
We choose lower impact fibres across our collections, meaning we go beyond the conventional materials used in our industry. We use organic cotton, responsibly sourced viscose and recycled fibres in our products and we’re actively exploring fibres from regenerative sources, which we believe are some of the most sustainable fibres available.
We care about the impact beyond the point of sale of our products so we do what we can to help our consumers understand how best to care for their clothing, covering wear, care & repair. We also collect old Baukjen (and Isabella Oliver) clothing from our customers to resell it in our Pre-Loved shop or pass it on to be processed by our recycling partners. We want to make sure that none of our clothing ever ends up in landfill.

Our current fashion industry is based on a take-make-waste system in which products follow a linear path from production through to disposal, and the materials are not reused. We go beyond by offering an alternative solution, through our rental and subscription services. Our innovative solution for maternity clothing is our subscription model with our sister brand Isabella Oliver, where we offer clothing bundles to wear throughout pregnancy that are returned to us when no longer needed. It allows our customers to stay stylish and comfortable with a growing bump, while helping garments stay in use for longer and reducing waste. We also offer rental across both Baukjen and Isabella Oliver, whereby customers can rent our clothing for 2 weeks before sending it back to us where they are cleaned in our Ozone chamber and ready to be rented again.
