In the lead up to COP26, we have teamed up with streaming platform WaterBear , denim brand and fellow B Corp MUD Jeans and artist Billie Achilleos on their project to create a sustainably made sculpture of the legend of Nessy, the Loch Ness Monster. We have joined forces with Oxfam to be the official donation partner at the Messy exhibition, as part of our mission to extend the lifespan of clothing.

In the UK it’s estimated that £140 million worth of clothing goes to landfills each year, and 95% of this could have been recycled in some way.

We are on a mission to reduce the amount of clothing that ends up in landfill so, we have provided donation bins at the exhibition for you to send you clothing back to us. From 29th -31st October, visitors can donate their old clothing to House of Baukjen to be recycled or repurposed in collaboration with Oxfam. We will then send you a £20 thank you gift (minimum spend of £59 applies).

'Why did we make Messy?'

'Every year, at the Conference of the Parties (COP), the world’s leaders come together to make decisions to address major global issues, including the climate crisis.

We believe in bringing these conversations out from behind closed doors to members of the public. In honour of COP26, taking place in Scotland, we are showcasing one of the most hopeful climate solutions in existence: circularity.’ WaterBear

As champions of slow fashion, we are passionate about circularity so, we are thrilled to be involved in this project to show that living a more circular lifestyle is possible.
