Beauty Notes: How to get the look from our Spring/Summer 2017 shoot

Effortless, easy, breezy, natural - this was the beauty look of our Spring/Summer 2017 shoot.  The base was dewy and the hair natural, the overall look? Effortless.  We consistently create sartorial garments that adhere to this agenda, ergo our makeup too.  Additionally, keeping makeup fresh and natural allows the clothes to remain the focal. Perfect.

We went straight to our hair and makeup artist, Camilla, for tips on how she achieved the dewy skin,  glowing complexion and subtle smoky eye from our Spring/Summer 2017 shoot.

The Skin: illuminating

1. Skin is always the main feature and I first prepped it with Inika Rose Hip Oil. I massaged it into the skin resulting in a plump and dewy effect.

2. As a primer I used a strobe cream that Mac has just released. It's got a lovely texture and is smoothing as well as illuminating. I use it on the cheek bones.

3. I then lightly apply Tom Ford's Traceless Foundation. It gives a really nice finish to the skin.

4. For the cheeks I use a cream colour base tint by Mac. It's really multi-purposeful, as you can also use it on your eyelids.

The Eye: Subtle Smoky

1. I always start by using an eye cream. Bobbi Brown is my go-to.

2. I  like to subtlety define the eyes. For this,  I use a cream product by Mac called GroundWork. You just smudge it around the eyes and you've got an instant gorgeous look.

3. To finish I use Burberry's Cat Lash Mascara.

Lips: Nude

1. It's always really important to prep the lips, it should be the same as prepping the skin.

2. For this shoot I've used a nudy pink lipstick. Charlotte Tilbury does some great nudes.

Camilla's Beauty must-haves:

1. Dr Hauschka Rose Day Cream - it's amazing! And really kind to the skin.

2. I love Tom Ford, they do the best foundation. His Traceless Foundation is a favourite.

3. Mac Groundwork paint point - I use it everyday. It's so good for smudging on the eyes.
