We are excited to announce that we have partnered with Isabel Spearman to launch an exclusive Baukjen dress at the Daily Dress Edit Autumn Pop Up.

We worked closely with Isabel to create the Izzie Dress, a flowing printed midi that will see you through the season in style.

Dress aficionado, Isabel Spearman, initially created the Daily Dress Edit as an Instagram account to share her favourite finds with her community of fellow dress lovers. The account soon became hugely popular which led to the creation of the annual Daily Dress Edit Pop Up. We sat down with Isabel to find out more about the inspiration behind the Daily Dress Edit and what you can expect from the Pop Up.

When did your love for dresses start?
I’ve always been a dress girl, since I was a teenager, but dresses only became a wardrobe staple once I was working in a very male driven world during my time at No.10. I loved being one of the only women in the building wearing a brightly coloured dress, usually in a bold print.

What inspired to start the Daily Dress Edit?

Post No.10, I worked with a lot of amazing businesswomen and in the corporate world. I really missed the fun of fashion and started the DDE account really as an excuse to trawl Instagram for pretty dresses as a guilty pleasure. I then discovered there were many more dress-obsessed women out there.

It is absolutely one you don’t have to think about when you put it on. Whether it’s for the school run, a work meeting or a friend's party. It is one that you always return to because it’s easy to wear and you feel your best in.

How important is it to you to champion small, slow fashion brands?

I have become so passionate about this; I feel incredibly lucky to have created this platform so that I can support and highlight these brilliant brands. I’d like to think shopping habits were beginning to change anyway, but post-lockdown I really feel that consumers are really ready to embrace a better way to shop. It feels very exciting.

I was approached by Grosvenor London to open the first one back in early 2019, when I only had 2k followers, so it was absolutely their idea rather than mine. However, it now makes complete sense to curate the best of these small brands either in the form of a virtual or physical Pop Up. I think having both is super important with customers returning each time to buy something they will love forever.

What can people expect from the Pop Up?
They will definitely discover a new favourite brand that they can then follow and support. The Pop Ups are for midi dress wearing colour and print lovers, so prepare for a feast for the eyes.

Will there be a variety of dresses in different style?

We will have over 120 styles and I have really carefully selected them all to flatter many different body shapes. There is definitely a running theme of colour and print but there should be something to suit everyone.

We see 5 women every 45 minutes for 9 hours a day over 17 days. I’m not great at maths so you can add that up. And this year we can take walk ins if we can accommodate them so that number will go up.
How can people visit the pop up?

After the virtual Pop Up earlier this year, are you looking forward to hosting this pop up in person?

I love seeing my DDE customers face to face, not only after the year we’ve all had it is so wonderful to give them a lovely in-store experience but also, as a brand consultant as my day-job, I love seeing what people really respond to. I love challenging women to try something different, and I’m quite good at it and that’s just not something you can so well virtually.
