Wrapping up in the Nella Coat Cardi

I’m running around town today (literally) on appointments for a shoot and have a couple of press days to attend so key thing for me is to wear something comfortable but that has an element of cool about it. I love the French laidback vibe that doesn’t look like too much thought has been put into it (which is generally the case with the 5 minutes I have these days to get ready).

Most of my day wardrobe is so easy to put together – an array of leather trousers or low slung jeans, fine knit top and t-shirts, and great knitwear or jackets to sling over the lot. There’s a chill in the air today so I’ve picked out my Nella Coat Cardi. It’s a fab berry colour which makes a nice change from black or grey and has a warming effect on the skin tone. I love that it works as a cross between a jacket and a cardigan with a collar and double breasted vibe and it has a heavy quality that looks good with leather trousers. Underneath is an old IRO t-shirt that is beloved and highlights the tone of silver trim on the pockets of the Nella rib (very cool that these are in leather with matching buttons). The metallic adds a bit of a zing to the knit and makes it a little bit special – it’s not just an old cardigan borrowed from my husband.
My bag of the moment is a gorgeous little mini purse bag that Chanel sent me for Christmas – just big enough for my keys and phone and so light you don’t feel it. I just can’t get enough of Chanel chains so to have a little bit of cross body bling feels just right and gives the look a bit of a detail blast. Kitten heels are added so I’m not plodding into press days in flats but neither am I hobbling around in pain. And I’m rather pleased that my Essie manicure in this fab new neon purple shade clashes nicely with the colour of my Nella Coat Cardi.
