The Perfect Cover-Up. The Braddon V-Neck Jumper

Taking a break this week in one of my favourite spots in Cornwall with a big group of best friends and the weather is majorly on side. It is positively Caribbean. But the wind whips up in the evening along the dramatic coast line and loungey BBQs require some kind of cosy cover up.

Thank goodness for this gorgeous Braddon V-Neck Jumper that I packed – my solo bit of knitwear for the trip. I brought an entire suitcase of boho dresses and cut-offs (I think it’s the first time Trebetherick has witnessed leather shorts) and failed to really address the fact the evenings would not be tropical. This V-neck is my ultimate ‘wear with anything’ outer layer.

It’s a sublime neutral shade that works with anything and everything and is so soft it’s one of the few pieces of knitwear that I can bear to wear with nothing underneath. No attack of the itches. I love a low neckline. It makes the Braddon Jumper feminine and sexy and also works to streamline the body taking the eye down rather than across the torso (there is nothing worse than a vacuum packed bustline in a too high v-neck – think Simon Cowell). We had a long gorgeous BBQ and let the children run around in their pyjamas across the vast lawn that stretched down to the sea, overlooking Daymer bay, watching the sunset, prosecco in hand. Utter bliss.

I wore with my Braddon V-Neck Jumper, a favourite pair of MiH bootcut white jeans that always makes me feel like Bianca Jagger and remained white for little less than an hour after a bedtime tussle with one of the children. The bog standard, wipe clean havaianas came out to play and a white empire line soft cotton boho top from Isabel Marant that allowed me to eat as much mac cheese as was humanly possible without obvious bulge. As ‘staycations’ go, it was pretty much perfect.
